On Friday and Saturday, November 4-5, the boys golf team played in the Biker Rally Open at Moody Gardens. It was the tale of two different days, as the Mustangs struggled on Friday.
In his first tournament of the year, Hart Holtzclaw led the way for the #GoLow Mustangs with a two day total of 153 (76,77). Matthew and Adam Smith each shot 87 on Friday, but continued the #GoLow effort on Saturday by shooting a 76 and 77 respectively. Drew Walmsley and Nathan Ruffeno rounded out the scoring shooting 175 for their two day total. It was great to see such improvement from the kids the second day of the tournament, as each one of them played well.
The Mustangs placed 6 overall, but the Mustangs look forward to getting everyday with the hope of being in the right groove when it comes time for districts at Moody in the spring.
The girls golf team had another amazing victory at the tournament this past Tuesday, taking home another first place trophy. Also, Heidi Demel (freshman), took home an individual 4th place high score overall.
