Thank you for your cooperation during our metal detector pilot
A special thank you goes to our students who were patient and kind as we piloted the use of metal detectors. I am so proud of the feedback that students provided as we engaged in conversation after the process. As their principal, I am most appreciative of how our students practiced Habit 5: Seek first to understand before being understood.
Students shared that they first appreciated the efforts for safety. Then we talked about how we could improve the process to ensure there is no delay in instruction, to ensure less time in line and less time waiting outside of the campus, and to ensure all understand the importance of needing to feel safe at school. I look forward to hearing the voice of other students as we continue this discussion.
Parents, as always, continue to share your feedback with me. I welcome your thinking as we all work together for our children's safety.
