Weekly Rehearsals

Jessa Liversidge will take these rehearsals and our first task will be to refresh some Christmas music and learn some new pieces to contribute to the various Christmas Events we have planned.

Ding Dong Merrily

Back by popular demand Ding Dong Merrily, an evening of music, songs and festive cheer with soloists to be performed at the National Centre for Early Music, York, Tuesday 4th December @ 7.30pm.

Rehearsals will start on Monday, October 15, 2012 @ 7.30pm and every Monday thereafter at New Earswick School. All are welcome and there are no auditions for this concert.

Youth choir - we would like to have a small youth choir for this concert and we are inviting any children aged 8+ years who are interested to attend the first rehearsal on Monday, October 15, 2012 @ 6.30pm at New Earswick School. (We are limited to the numbers we can accommodate at the performance venue.)

Christmas Crackers

A seasonal production, Christmas Crackers, an evening of festive fun, to be performed at:

Sheriff Hutton Village Hall, Saturday 24th November @ 7.30pm


The Black Lion, Thirsk, Sunday 2nd December @ 7.30pm (Sold Out!)

Auditions will be held on Tuesday 30th October 2012 and further information on the format and content will be announced soon.

Christmas Carols at Leonard Cheshire Home, Alne

This has been an annual event in our calendar for over 45 years and we are proud to share our music making with the residents, staff and friends at the Leonard Cheshire Home, Alne. We sing some popular christmas carols with audience participation, a few choir numbers and some christmas readings, We then share some christmas cheer, sherry and mince pies with the residents and staff.

The event is on Monday, 17th December, 2012 @ 7.30pm.

We will cover any music for this event at our Monday evening rehearsals.

Events in 2013

The Executive Committee are currently working on a programme of events; productions, concerts, fund-raising for 2013 and details will follow shortly.

York Musical Theatre Company was founded in 1902 under its former name of York Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society. The Company changed its name on reaching its centenary in 2002.
