High School Students Not Prepared

More than 60 percent of 2012 graduates are not adequately prepared for college

Students deemed college-ready in a subject have a 75 percent chance of passing a first-year college course in that area according to US News dot com. Even those students who have done everything they were told to do to prepare for college find, often after they arrive, that their new institution has deemed them unprepared. Their high school diploma, college-preparatory curriculum, and high school exit examination scores did not ensure college readiness.

We Need to Define What It Means to Be "College Ready"

We need to bridge the gap between high school, college, and career.

High school standards often do not meet what colleges require aside from the fact that students also lack basic life skills.
