Child Labor Laws in Georgia?
Today, approximately 80% of all students work sometime during high school. Child labor laws ensure that our youth have the necessary time to pursue their education and be employed in a safe workplace. Georgia's child labor law was written in 1878.
Alabama Child Labor Laws.
The law prohibits youths from working in occupations or places of employment, which could be harmful to their health or moral well being. By regulating the hours during which youths are allowed to work, the law ensures minors sufficient time to take advantage of their educational opportunities.
Child Labor Laws in Mexico.
There are an estimated 8 to 11 million children under the age of 15 working in Mexico. A relatively small number of children under the age of 14 are reportedly employed in the export-oriented maquiladoras, or assembly factories, in the border region between Mexico and the United States.
Child Labor Laws in Canada.
The Federal Government allows for the employment of children under the age of 17 with the provision that work be “unlikely” to endanger health or safety. Children are not permitted to work between the hours of 11:00 pm to 6:00 am.
