Class of 2020, Save the Dates!
We look forward to celebrating with you, virtually.
Teacher Feature
Mr. Laalo
In this corner, hailing from the mean streets of South Lively, it’s Mr. Laalo. Some of you may think of Mr. Laalo as merely a Music and Law teacher; however, he is so much more.
Did you know that Mr. Laalo spent almost two decades coaching high-school football?
Did you know that Mr. Laalo spent many years playing the double-bass in the Sudbury Symphony?
Did you know that Mr. Laalo almost went to school to become a professional wrestler like his hero Randy ‘Macho Man’ Savage? (That’s why he talks in the third person!)
If you are lucky enough to meet Mr. Laalo or have him as a teacher, you would find that he clearly loves his job. It is obvious that he genuinely likes being with his students and he likes coming to work everyday. He feels very fortunate to call Lo-Ellen his teaching home.
Integrated Tech Design
Art in 8C
The class chose images of famous Romans, which are great examples of shading and use of lines, so they could mimic the details. Great work 8C!
Librarian's Corner
Here is a message for our students, both remote and in-person, from Ms. Ecclestone:
Just wanted to remind you that in the Announcements section on the VLE (your learning platform), you will find a link for the Gale Databases. The databases provide you with access to scholarly, magazine, and newspaper articles. All articles are searchable, include full citations, (MLA, APA or Chicago), and are fully compatible with your Google drive. It's essentially a library at your fingertips which will really help during this time of remote learning.
If you are having any difficulties using these please send me an email, Linda Ecclestone, ecclesl@rainbowschools.ca, or give me a call, 705 522 2320, ext. 6630. I can help you with any of your research needs.
