This Week...
During our writing time, we listened to the story "Fox on Socks" and used Dr. Seuss's illustrations as inspiration to decorate a Cat in the Hat hat. We used adjectives, describing words, to describe our hats. In the hallway you will see all of the children's hats. See if you can guess which hat belongs to which piece of writing depending on their describing words! We also worked independently during Writers Workshop as we practiced adding adjectives to our writing.
During our literacy time, we discussed word families. We used the Cat in the Hat hat to create rhyming words according to the children's assigned word family. Come check out our hats in the hallway!
During our math time, we began Unit 7, Subtraction Strategies and Attributes of Shapes. We learned about fact families using dominoes and used fact triangles to create fact families. This will help the children deepen their understanding about addition and subtraction facts.
