Principal's Pen
First of all I would like to welcome everyone back to the building. In a time of uncertainty it has been a real breath of fresh air to return to the school, classroom, and the extracurricular activities that I will never take for granted again. While I realize things aren’t exactly what everyone would hope for, watch students in the classroom, outside and gym being able to participate in activities, organized and not, is something we have been missing.
As we work our way into the school year we have started volleyball, cross country, and soccer as well as some golf. These are just a few of the opportunities for kids as we are also doing spirit days and open gym. The energy level is coming back into the adults and the kids as this is a building that has been built on strong academics that are assisted and strengthened by opportunities outside of the classroom.
I want to thank the community who, for the most part, have really helped us provide the best we could for our students. I was worried that apathy may start to set in after a year of restricted ability to be involved, but the first staff meeting showed that people are ready to go, and just want to give the opportunities back to the kids as much as possible.
Over the next while we may have to make adjustments to the way we do things with many of the decisions beyond our control, but if we have to adjust in order to keep offering the extras then we are more than willing to do that. We need to be flexible in order to be able to meet the needs of the students both in the classroom and out. We also need to be prepared for possible at home learning in at least short spurts so please make sure you student is able to log in to their account before the day comes when they are at home and unable to. If you have any questions it is always good to ask them ahead if possible.
Once again, thank you for your support and we will continue to do everything we can for all of our students.
