Mustang Weekly
Week of December 15th
Farewell... & Hello!
Tim will be replaced by Juan Hernandez. Please welcome him, and make him feel at home at Austin. He should begin shortly after the Break.
Environment
Building Improvements!
Also, Principals continue moving forward with work on our "building redesign." With our most recent bond, money was allocated for updates/improvements to the existing campuses. What does that mean for Austin? It means we get an Austin Elementary makeover! We met with the design firm this past Friday to give input for our individual campuses, and we meet again this Monday to begin looking at specifics. Included in the design will be new furniture, tech resources, etc. We may also have some opportunities to make some structural changes (windows, walls, etc).
It's an exciting time to be at Austin!

Hour of Code
It was great hearing from a few of you on how you saw kids that typically struggle really light up during this time. Who knows... You may have helped spark a new interest!
Let's Share Our PBL Expertise...
This Spring, I have designated 1 week per grade level to share examples/details of a PBL unit they have designed for our learners. See below for the schedule. I would like to feature pictures, resources, products, etc.
By the Friday prior to your grade level's "feature date," please email me any items you would like to include in your Mustang Weekly PBL Grade Level "Feature" (fancy name, I know). This is an informal way for us to share some of our design/unit ideas with our fellow educators. Let me know if there are any questions!
