FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Tālova lava,

In life we encounter different moments that bring us a world of memories. It is through these events that shape who we are and how we move on to handle new experiences, moments, challenges, the good and the bad. And this is the same for our faith journey.

On Monday at our gathering liturgy, we reflected on Sundays’ Gospel on Jesus’ ascension into heaven, and his promise to his disciples that one day he will return, but until then he will send us the Holy Spirit. It is through the power of the Holy Spirit we can face these moments in life. Our students have been learning about the Holy Spirit in their RE lessons and it has been a privilege to spend time in all the classes and hear from the students how the Holy Spirit is present in their lives and how we can show this to others. This coming Tuesday in our classes, tamariki will be celebrating Pentecost as it is the birthday of the Church. Keep an eye for updates on Seesaw next week.

Wishing you all a safe long weekend and if you are travelling, safe travels.

God Bless.

Mrs Shanks

TERM 2 SCHOOL ASSEMBLIES

We hope that you will be able to join us to celebrate what our students have been learning.

Assemblies this term are on Friday 20th May, Friday 10th June and Friday 1st July starting at 2.30pm in the Hall. Please be seated by 2.25pm. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible. Masks are required to be worn.

SCHOOL ATTENDANCE

You will be aware that this has been in the news a lot recently. As a kura, our number one priority is for your child to be at school. It is known that when a child is present at school and participating in their learning that this leads to progress. If your child is absent, you need to inform the school as to why by either phoning the office or using the app.

UNIFORM CHANGES

We have noticed a lot of non-uniform items creeping in, please ensure your child is wearing the correct uniform.

There has been a change to the policy on the wearing of shoes at school. Children can now wear either sandals or shoes anytime of the year. Please check out the below link to see what shoes are suitable for wearing. Note: NO other footwear is acceptable.

Due to the increase of cost in the school holding uniform items, we are in the process of transferring the final four items we hold to The Warehouse. This is scheduled to take place around the start of Term 3. In the meantime, you are still able to purchase the Hat, Sweatshirt, PE Shirt and PE Shorts from school.

SAVE THE DATE! DATE NOT TO BE MISSED - SUNDAY 19TH JUNE!

As part of upholding and living out the special character of our school, you are all invited to attend our whānau mass, hosted by our students on Sunday 19th June at 9.15am. PUT THIS DATE ON YOUR CALENDAR NOW! We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at this mass.

Look out for Term Accounts dropping in your inbox early next week. This will be the first account emailed home this year, due to varying reasons. Please ensure the office has an up-to-date email address. Should you not receive your account, please get in touch with the office.

You will also notice on your term account there is a $60 charge for a School Contribution, previously known as the Activity Fee. This charge is a donation, completely voluntary, however, it is does help contribute to our photocopying costs etc. Please note, should you pay this charge it is tax deductible.

SPORTS FEES

If your child has signed up to play sport this term, please check your information notice and ensure payment is made by the requested date as we are adopting a 'NO PAY, NO PLAY' policy this year due to the number of outstanding fees.
