Model Correct and Incorrect Behavior. Then model correct behavior again. Always end with correct behavior!

Read to Self

Students in my classroom will build their reading stamina, by having ample opportunities to read.

Work on Writing

Students in my classroom will have time to work on their writing. I will make sure to model my expectations for what this will look like and place it on an anchor chart for my students to have a constant reminder.

Read to Someone

Students in my classroom will have the option of reading to someone. I believe that students can learn a lot from reading to their peers and discussing the text with them. It is also beneficial for the student listening.

Listen to Reading

I will have a computer corner in my room with headphones for students that want to listen to an audio book version of their text. If I can, I will have Ipads and or chromebooks for my students to listen to reading, as well.

Word Work

Students will have the choice of working on word work. I will make sure to model my expectations for what this will look like and place it on an anchor chart for my students to have a constant reminder.
