Vasco DA Gama

5.He died from an unnamed illness on Dec. 24, 1524.
Christopher Columbus
1.His first voyage into the Atlantic Ocean in 1476 nearly cost him his life.
2.Returning to Spain in 1493, Columbus gave a glowing, somewhat exaggerated report and was warmly received by the royal court.
3.It wasn't until his third voyage that Columbus actually reached the mainland exploring the Orinoco River in present-day Venezuela.

Ferdinand Magellan
1.As a boy, he studied mapmaking and navigation. By his mid-20s, he was sailing in large fleets and was committed in combat.
2.In his mid-20s, Magellan joined a Portuguese fleet that was sailing to East Africa.
3.By October 1520, Magellan and his men had entered what is now called the Strait of Magellan.
