Intersession Information
- Intersession takes place during the week of September 27-October 1.
- Intersession is for students who are preregistered and have been invited due to a need to fill learning gaps. If you have received an invitation and have yet to register, please do so by the deadline on September 17.
- Students who do not attend Intersession will not come to school during the week of September 27-October 1.
- If you have questions about Intersession, please contact Mr. King, our assistant principal, at rlking@garlandisd.net .
Dismissal Reminders
I want to thank parents for following our dismissal procedures. Please see the following clarifications:
- We prefer parents who pick up their students by car to stay in their car and display the yellow number tag assigned at the beginning of the year.
- Car riders whose parents park and walk up to the building must display their car tag to a staff member near the pick-up line. This will ensure that the number is added to the dismissal spreadsheet posted in classrooms.
- Students who are designated as "walkers" do NOT need a car tag. They will be released at 3:30.
- You can change a student's designation from car rider to walker simply by communicating this change to the teacher via email.
- For safety purposes, we cannot release car riders unless we see the yellow car tag. If the tag is not available, please park and come to the office to get your child after 3:30.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at kbain@garlandisd.net .
Parents' Right to Know
Parents’ Right to Know: Districts that receive Title I, Part A funds must notify parents of each student attending any Title I school that the parent may request, and the agency will provide the parents upon request (and in a timely manner), information regarding the professional qualifications of the student’s classroom teachers.
