A MESSAGE FROM MR. COLE
Good Afternoon Pine Road Families,
As we are now in the middle of October, and the fall weather looks like it is here to stay, we are getting very close to our Halloween parade and fall classroom parties! Please be sure to read the information included in this communication related to the parade and class parties. Please remember that all costumes must be school appropriate and not contain toy weapons. I look forward to seeing you all as we continue this wonderful Pine Road tradition.
This month you may take note of some surprise guests on the bus to and from school! Members of our LMTPD will be hopping on to take a ride on some of our buses! They will use this opportunity to get to know our students and reinforce the need to be safe and responsible while on the bus.
Lastly, I end this newsletter on a bittersweet note. Many of you may recall that the district used some of our ESSER funding to partner with Lakeside to create a Student Success Counselor to help our students transition back to full-time in-person learning. Ms. Mastrocola has been a valuable asset to our school and has worked closely with many of you. She has recently accepted a position as a School Counselor in another district. While we are very happy for her, we will miss her very much! We have worked with Lakeside to identify a new individual to serve in the role. Please join me in welcoming Marissa Clopton to the role. Marissa is joining the team and brings some great experience, including, most recently, completing an internship in Council Rock!
Sincerely,
Scott Cole
Principal

Supporting New Families at Pine Road
In our district, we are lucky to have students and families who are from diverse cultures. Did you know that in our district, we have over 30 languages spoken?
To better support our new families, we would like to invite you to participate in serving as a mentor. As a mentor, you would be responsible for explaining school routines and special events and answering any questions that arise.
For those families who do not speak English as their native language, working with a mentor family who speaks the same language could be very helpful in learning to navigate our school system.
If you are interested in volunteering your time, please complete THIS form. New families would contact you upon their arrival to the district.
Cafeteria Reminder
Lunch menus are posted on a new interactive website, Nutrislice. Our innovative and interactive site and mobile app make our school menus more convenient and informative than ever before! Download the Nutrislice App from the App Store or get it on Google Play and search Lower Moreland.
Friendly reminder that the universal free lunch has ended, however starting October 1st free breakfast will be returning! Students that would like a free breakfast in the morning will walk straight to the cafeteria upon arrival. Students can eat breakfast in the cafeteria and granola bars, muffins, and cereal bars are also available if your student would like to save their breakfast for snack time.
Information on the Free or Reduced Lunch Prices can be found on the nutrition page on our LMTSD website.
