English Notes

Mrs. Bullard

Happy Thanksgiving!

I extend a heartfelt "Thank you," to all students, parents, and the entire staff of The NC Leadership Academy. The NCLA is truly a wonderful learning environment and I am honored to be a part of the team!

Thank you for making my first quarter at The NCLA an excellent experience.

The Forsyth County Bookmobile is Coming!

I am happy to announce the Forsyth County Library's bookmobile stops at The NCLA on the 2nd Thursday of each month. Their next visit will be December 10th.

The following information is also available on my website.

Students in grades 7-11 may visit the bookmobile from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. on bookmobile days. (Students in lower grade levels may visit the bookmobile with their teacher during school hours. Please check with your child's teacher to learn their schedule).

Students must have a valid Forsyth County Public Library card to visit the bookmobile.
They may bring their completed and signed library card registration form to the December 10th visit (Children and Youth 4-17 link below).

Parents may also utilize the bookmobile. Please complete the Adults registration form (Adults and Youth Over 17 link below).

NOTE: If your high school student is a car rider, please park your car in the parking lot.

Do not wait in the car line for them to finish at the bookmobile.

What students and parents can expect:

  • The bookmobile will have books and magazines available to check out for all library card holders.
  • The bookmobile will accept book returns for the branches in the Forsyth County Public Library System
  • Students may also return bookmobile books to Forsyth County Public Library branches.
  • The bookmobile will not be able to bring pre-ordered library books to students. However, students may pre-order and pick-up books at the Kernersville Branch Library.

Where do I find my assignments?!?

Assignments and due dates may be found in three places:

1.) My whiteboard.
2.) My website.
3.) Google classrooms.

When in doubt, your young person can email or text me.
See my contact information below or on my website.

Upcoming Assignments

My website is kept current with due dates for upcoming assignments. Please remind your young person to check my website for due dates.

Hint - there is a MAJOR deadline due on 12/1.
This was assigned on 10/1, giving students two months to complete the project.

Donations Requested

I am requesting your help in our effort to establish an inventory of novels to be used in The NCLA high school English classes.

The NCLA has purchased some copies of novels for our inventory. However, with three different grade levels, I am asking for your help in purchasing additional copies to bring all of our titles to a class level set.

Would you please consider donating $13 to help in this effort? Please make checks to The NC Leadership Academy. Or, if you would rather, please donate an Amazon gift card in the amount of $13.

In support of your donation, Mrs. Faenza has agreed to allow your donation to be logged as 1.5 hours of volunteer time.

Thank you for your help, and a big thanks to those who have already contributed.
