Northpointe Newsflash

January 10 - 14, 2022

Northpointe Intermediate School

We had a great first week back at NIS! It was great to see all of our staff and students back on campus as we jump into the second semester. There is always a lot going on the Spring semester, please make sure you are reading all the emails that come your way to ensure you are up to date on all the happenings on campus.

This week we will be focusing on the Great Expectations Life Principle of Humility: being fair, right, and upholding what is right. Below is a guide for discussing Humility with your student this week.

  1. What are some situations that require humility?
  2. Are there times when it is difficult to show humility?
  3. Do you notice when others do not show humility? Does that affect your attitude towards them?

Be Present for your Future

Attendance Matters: Consistent attendance and being on time is one of the keys to academic success.

Documentation after an Absence

When a student is absent from school, the student—upon arrival or return to school—must bring a doctor note or note signed by the parent that describes the reason for the absence. The note must be turned in within 3 days of the student’s return to school.

If absences become excessive, the student may be required to submit a doctor’s note verifying illness for the absences to be excused.

The campus will document in its attendance records whether the absence is excused or unexcused.

Students please bring your notes to the front office upon your return to school.
