CSinPA 7-12 Toolkit Team
Middle and high school (7-12) computer science teachers are invited to join the CSinPA 7-12 Toolkit Team.
This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with other 7-12 CS teachers and contribute to a growing collection of CSinPA resources. To maximize collaboration, this opportunity is IN-PERSON only.
Teachers selected for the team will be compensated for their time and effort, as detailed below.
7-12 Toolkit Team Day: June 21
Tuesday, June 21, 2022, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm at PaTTAN Harrisburg
Toolkit Team Day Compensation:
- $120 stipend
- Reimbursement for mileage
- Lunch provided
If you're 100+ miles away from PaTTAN Harrisburg, you're also eligible for:
- 1-night hotel accommodations (check in June 20, check out June 21)
- $35 meal stipend
7-12 Toolkit Team @ CSforAllPA: June 22-23
If your schedule allows, we hope you'll continue engaging in Toolkit Team activities during the 2022 CSforAllPA Summit (June 22-23 at PaTTAN Harrisburg).
Toolkit Team members engaging in the Summit will receive:
- Everything included in the Toolkit Team Day, plus
- $40 stipend
- financial assistance to participate in the CSforAllPA Summit (see details below).
Financial assistance is available in one of these ways:
- Round-trip mileage for June 22 and June 23
- Additional 2-night hotel accommodations + meal stipend
Toolkit Team Projects
As a member of the Toolkit Team, you'll focus your efforts on one of these four project areas.
Project 1. Cross-curricular CS professional learning
Focus: Integrating CS into other content areas in meaningful ways
Example:
- Cybersecurity as part of a Civics/Government course
Project 2. Obstacles to Equity professional learning
Focus: Removing obstacles to equitable access to CS
Examples:
Lesson / unit created or differentiated for students with disabilities
Robotics integrated into a “Life Skills” lesson
Adaptations to a micro:bit activity for student with limited dexterity
Lesson / unit created or differentiated for English learners
Ex: culturally aware activity using bi-lingual materials
Project 3. Physical Computing Devices professional learning
Focus: Supporting CS learning with physical computing devices (independent or integrated CS activities)
Examples:
Biology experiments involving the use of a microcontroller (“running” experiment elements, data collection, etc.)
Using drones to collect data in Geography or Earth Sciences
Project 4. CS Pathways professional learning
Focus: Developing 7-12 standards-aligned, culturally relevant CS course pathways
The overall goal for all four projects is the same: creating asynchronous modules containing information, resources, and materials to support 7-12 CS teachers across Pennsylvania.

How to join the 7-12 Toolkit Team
Please review the 7-12 Toolkit Team information including the Project details and deliverables before submitting your 7-12 Toolkit Team application.
7-12 Toolkit Team members must have experience in one or more of the 7-12 Toolkit Team project areas. Space is limited. Priority will be given to applicants who:
- hold the PA 7-12 CS certificate
- currently teach 7-12 CS
- have experience
