GLOW GAZETTE
WEEK OF APRIL 17, 2023

Message from the Principal
GLOW Students & Families,
I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful Spring Break! As a reminder, tomorrow (Monday, April 17) is a teacher workday, so students still have one day of break left to enjoy!
As we enter these final 6 weeks of the 23-24 school year, we do so with anticipation, excitement, and a sense of urgency to ensure students have learned everything they need to be successful on end of grade/end of course testing and to be prepared for the next grade level. While it can be easy to think of the end of year as a period of "winding down," these are perhaps some of the most important weeks of the school year.
With that in mind support and cooperation from our parents has also never been more important!
Student attendance is VITAL to academic success! Not only do we need your support in ensuring that students "get up and out" in the morning so they can be present and on time for school, but ensuring that students are meeting behavior and uniform expectations is also imperative to student attendance.
While we are committed to providing equitable access to instruction for all of our students, we will not allow disruptive behavior to impact the learning of others. We will also hold true to our uniform policies and expectation that require students be in uniform compliance before they can report to class. This is an especially important reminder for our high school students, as we saw a rise in uniform infractions among these students prior to spring break. Parents, please ensure that your student is meeting uniform expectations before they leave for school each day. If you need a reminder of these expectations for student dress, you can find those HERE.
Parents, we couldn't do this work without you and appreciate, in advance, your support to ensure a strong and successful final few weeks of the 23-24 school year.
Kate B. Tayloe
Principal
