Jose is a "Yes I Can!" kind of guy!!!
The Yes I Can Award honors children and youth with exceptionalities who shine. The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) has recognized the accomplishments of thousands of students since the program started in 1982. One of our Arcado students, Jose Edmonds, was nominated this year by his teacher, Dr. Janie Avant. We are so proud to be able to share that Jose was honored as an award winner at the 2014 Yes I Can Awards ceremony in Philadelphia on April 11th in the area of academics.
Jose, 10, is enjoying learning to read and write using an augmentative and alternative communication device and continues to improve his communication skills using speech and sign language. A class leader who loves reading and entertaining his classmates, Jose amazes his teachers with his will to understand, learn and communicate.
