Homecoming 2018

Homecoming 2018, with a Back to the 80s theme, will occur the week of September 17 through September 21, 2018. Daily dress-up days and spirit competitions will occur throughout the week. Coronation of the homecoming royalty will take place during halftime of the football game. The week will be capped off with the homecoming dance at KMHS from 7:00-10:00pm on Saturday, September 22. Go Lasers!

Senior Pictures - Deadline is 10/5/18

Senior Photos - Class of 2019: The yearbook staff has begun planning for the 2019 Laser Beam Yearbook and the senior class is a big part of it! In order to continue the tradition of highlighting the senior class, please see review the Senior Photos document for due dates and guidelines pertaining to senior pictures, baby pictures, and senior quotes/activities.


High School Only Parent-Teacher Conferences

We are excited to meet with parents and students at student-parent-teacher conferences on Tuesday, October 2nd, from 4:00-7:00pm and on Friday, October 5th, from 8:00-11:00am. Staff will be available, in their classrooms, for short conferences during this time. Parents have the opportunity to meet with the teachers of their choice as they travel throughout the building. Please refer to your child's schedule for classroom numbers and grades that you can print prior to coming to conferences.

Student Pick Up and Drop Off

Please be aware of the signage in front of the high school. Fire Lane: No Parking, No Stopping, No Standing. Violators will be ticketed. Student drop off before school should occur on the north side of the campus or in the front of the school (only before 7:00am) and pick up after school should only occur on the north side of the building. The front drive is designated for buses only after 7am and after school, and parents should not be using the student parking lot for picking up or dropping off their students. Thank you for your understanding and we appreciate your cooperation.


Parent Coffee

Mark your calendars for the first Parent Coffee at 9:00am on Friday, September 14 at 9:00! Deputy Soneberg - School Resource Officer and Melinda Mueller, Director of Public Information & Community Engagement will be sharing important updates and Jeff Walters will share what’s new for the 2018-19 school year! We look forward to seeing you.


Culver’s Cares

Please join us on Tuesday, September 18, for our first Culver’s Cares Night! Ms. Stellpflug and Ms. Cuda will be serving you from 5:00 to 6:30pm and Ms. Karls and Ms. Klima will be there to serve you from 6:30 to 8:00pm. We look forward to seeing you and thanks to our friends at Culver’s for supporting KMHS!

CAPP (Cooperative Academic Partnership Program): Students who are scheduled to take a dual enrollment CAPP course in the 18-19 school year are eligible to earn UW-Oshkosh credit for course completion. In order to pursue the credit through UW-Oshkosh, students must apply by following these step by step instructions, by Friday, September 7, 2018. Upon being accepted by the university, students will receive an email from UW-Oshkosh with the “next steps” to complete their registration process. Please refer to UW-Oshkosh’s CAPP website as a resource; for post-secondary transfer credit eligibility, please refer HERE. Pricing for the 2018-2019 is $100 per college credit.


ACT/SAT Test Prep Information

Higher Ed Admission Applications

  • Seniors, be mindful of your upcoming application deadlines. Applications may open prior to the school year.

  • Official transcripts are sent through Parchment. We encourage students to use the Step by Step Instructions as a reference to create an account and to place a transcript order.

  • Official ACT results are sent through www.actstudent.org.


College Workshops

Counselors will be offering College Workshop advisory sessions for seniors on Wednesdays, starting September 12 through the month of October. This is a great time to ask questions about the application process, to work on your college applications or to start the search for scholarships. Students can sign up for these sessions in the Counseling Department section in the RTI advisory software.


Senior Meetings

Counselors will be meeting with all campus seniors in the month of September to review the post high school planning process. Students will be scheduled during an advisory this month.


Financial Aid Night

The Counseling Department will host a Financial Aid Night on Monday, September 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school Auditorium. A representative from Carroll University will present information on the process of applying for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form, filing instructions, and information about grants, loans, scholarships, and other pertinent financial aid information for post-secondary education.


PSAT Test

The PSAT Test is an optional test for Sophomore and Junior Students. It is a standardized test administered by the College Board and cosponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) in the United States. Junior year test scores from the PSAT are used to determine eligibility and qualification for the National Merit Scholarship Program.


The test will be held on October 10, 2018 starting at 7:20am in the West Gym. The test is $16 and test registration forms are available in the Counseling Center. Refunds cannot be granted.

KM Community Education provides recreational and educational opportunities for families. Please be sure to visit the website often for updates and new programs.
