CBE Parent Newsletter
September 22, 2020
A Message from Mrs. Brown
This is an exciting time as we prepare to transition our students either to a face to face learning model or a new online schedule. Information about the transition is listed below along with some additional resources you may want to view.
We have two virtual meeting opportunities tonight that will provide information for our parents. Ms. Prado is hosting a virtual ESL parent night this evening and Ms.Hartman, our CBE counselor, is hosting a virtual GT parent information night. Please see below for information on both of those informative meetings.
In the next couple of days, I will be sending more information about what to expect at CBE if your child will be coming face to face. School will be as fun and exciting as always but we will be working under many new health and safety guidelines.
On Monday, September 28th, our PK and Kinder will begin either face to face or the new online schedule. Parents of PK and Kinder students may walk their students in the first day of face to face instruction.
If you choose to walk your student to class, these are the things you can expect:
-You will be met at the front door by a Wellness Monitor who will take your temperature and ask you to complete a short wellness survey. You will be given a sticker to wear showing you completed both of those steps.
-You will be expected to wear a face covering while in the building.
-After escorting your student to the classroom and meeting the teacher, you will exit the teacher's classroom through the closest exit door and return to your car.
Only the parents of PK and Kinder students will be allowed to walk their student to class the first day. For most of these very young children, it is their first experience in school and we want to honor the fact that it may be a very fearful time for both parent and student.
We are hoping as things improve and become safer for gatherings, that we can welcome all families back into our building but, for now, a no visitor policy is in effect.
As always you can contact the front office at 281-634-4080 if you have any questions or concerns.
Have a great rest of the week and stay safe and dry!
Stacy Brown

Elementary Schedules -
Online Schedule provides an opportunity for students to engage in synchronous learning in the morning and asynchronous learning in the afternoon. This structure allows for families who may need to support our youngest learners with synchronous instruction to plan the day around the designated time frames. The schedule also allows for families who have multiple elementary students to remain on the same schedule. Asynchronous time is flexible and can be completed during that day of instruction according to family schedules. The online schedule is designed to account for developmentally appropriate considerations for screen time and differentiated by grade level to still allow for breaks during synchronous instruction.
· Face-to-Face Schedule provides an opportunity for students to engage in a more traditional method of instructional delivery for each subject area aligned to the instructional model. The teacher is providing instruction for each content area in a designated block of time.
· Why the scheduled aren’t aligned:
o Fort Bend ISD has high instructional expectations for all students. The instructional model and District expectations for a quality learning environment for all students, regardless of learning modality, require full engagement for students in a face-to-face and online environment. Due to these expectations, the District has designed differentiated master schedules to provide students in the face-to-face model and students in the online model a schedule that will promote teacher engagement and commitment to their assigned group of students.
