No School

Message from the Principal

Westbrook Families,

This week has been a spirited week at Westbrook! We kicked off Monday with our Fall Celebrations that included an internal parade, all school sing along and Halloween parties. A big thank you to the PTA for providing our activities at the classroom parties. We hope that all students and families enjoyed the rest of our spirit week which included pajamas, sports attire, and accessories. Friday was an extra special spirit day as the PTA provided each student, preschool through second grade, with a Westbrook t-shirt. This will allow every student to participate in our spirit days on Friday. Thank you to the parent volunteers and our PTA that made this possible. Students were extremely excited to wear these shirts around Westbrook today. THANK YOU PTA!

Another thank you to our PTA as our preschool students were treated to a special musical performance on Thursday by a nationally touring kids musician, Little Miss Ann. Students and staff gathered in our gymnasium to sing and dance. You can listen to more Little Miss Ann on Spotify as well!

A friendly reminder to all parents and guardians, there will be NO SCHOOL on Tuesday, November 8, for Election Day.

Enjoy your weekend!

Patrick

Big picture
Students at Westbrook have been busy learning, growing and developing their reading and writing skills. In second grade they've been enjoying nonfiction books as they study their books to become better nonfiction writers. In first grade they've been working on tapping, stretching and writing words with short vowels. In kindergarten they've been retelling familiar storybooks using storybook language

Holiday Helper Sponsors Needed!!

Collecting Now through November 13

We currently have 87 Westbrook and Glen Grove families on our Holiday Helpers list. Can you help make their holiday season extra special?

Our goal is to provide $50 per child for a gift as well as$50 per family for groceries, and add more if we can! Families have shared that they GREATLY appreciate the gift card format so they are able to select their own gifts and meal items for their families.

This year we invite all sponsors to select from the following options:

  • sponsor individual families by purchasing gift cards, or
  • donate ANY AMOUNT to our online fund, or
  • contribute winter accessories, or
  • any combination of the above!

100% of all goods/funds received will go to the 2022 Holiday Helpers program.

We plan to distribute the gift cards in mid-November (which is soon!) so that families can take advantage of Black Friday and Cyber Monday when selecting gifts for their children. We need your help to make this timeline work. Please share this information with everyone you know!

We wish you much joy and good health this holiday season,

Westbrook & Glen Grove PTA
