HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 2 Week 9 Friday 24 June
FROM MARK
Hi Everyone,
Our Faction Cross-Country around Jackadder Lake today was another fantastic day. Rob Flexman runs a wonderful carnival, and this was no exception. It was very well organised and ran so smoothly. Thanks Rob!
A lot of people have been involved in the winter carnival and the cross country events, with many of our staff - Kaity Passmore, Julie Catherall, Kate O’Neill, Peter Scutti, Anthony D’Aloia, Mike Thacker and Rob Flexman - all involved in before school training prior to the events. Thank you so much for giving your time and expertise to support our children. Finally, to the parents who helped in any way, we really appreciate your support.
Michelle Kirwan arranged the exceptional Musica Viva concerts this week - a fitting celebration of the programme you have taught in music for the last ten weeks. Thank you Michelle!
We had some excitement yesterday with the fire alarm going off. There was no issue - other than the alarm being set off by an electrician replacing some lights - which was a relief!
Next week - hard to believe our last week of term - culminates in reports being available online on Wednesday, and with our end of term festivities on the Friday. Plenty of information is available in the newsletter.
Have a great weekend
Mark

LIBRARY
It has been truly incredible to hear students’ stories about their own families who have had to flee their home countries, during Refugee Week. Thank you to all of them for sharing their stories and helping us all to think about the challenges that refugees face.
Chess is back and the Seniors are better than ever. Some tough competition with some great sportsmanship has made for a super start. Two year 5 Book Clubs are running at present and their enthusiasm is certainly contagious!
A reminder that all overdue books need to be returned or replaced by the end of term.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Butson
″‘Thank you! Thank you!’ Isabel cried. Her heart ached with gratitude toward these people. Just a moment’s kindness from each of them might mean the difference between death and survival for her mother and everyone else on the little raft.”Refugee, Alan Gratz
