We Are Learning...
Reading
This week in reading we talked about how readers grow in longer fiction books. We used some the strategies learned earlier in our year and dug deeper into understanding how we can use these with longer books. The strategies we talked about this week were sneak peak, making predictions, and retelling.
Writing
This week in writing began to uncover our opinions about the books we read. Students picked books that had their favorite characters and books they were very familiar with. They used these books to look at characters, favorite parts, and pictures. Students then wrote letters to other readers trying to persuade them to read these favorite books.

Library Volunteers
Library volunteers are needed to help with shelving and checking in books in our TCE Library. Volunteering in the library is fun and the schedule is flexible! If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to Mrs. Hopper, TCE Librarian (lhopper@hse.k12.in.us).
*A safe visitor background check is required for all school volunteers. For more information on background checks, visit https://www.hseschools.org/services/other/school-safety/visiting-and-volunteering.
