Message from Jeff and Yolanda
On Wednesday we were proud to be able to show off and highlight our schools and share how we are preparing students with skills that will make them confident, marketable and successful college and career ready individuals. After the school presentation and question and answer session, Dr. Davis and Dr. Cook spent most of the time traveling from classroom to classroom visiting and talking with students and teachers as appropriate. Although we as administrators did not trail along with the AdvancED guests to see and hear what they observed, teachers shared that their classes were engaged in Quizlet Live, Kahoot, ALEKS, Discovery Education, collaborative learning structures and relevant writing. As evidence pieces within the ELEOT tool, we know that they observed student engagement, digital learning, well managed learning environments, progress monitoring, high expectations, and supportive and equitable learning environments.
Thank you for the collaborative efforts to get ready for the AdvancED visit. We have been preparing for AdvancED since the end of last year when we had student, staff and parent surveys, created standards committees to do a self-assessment, collected school level evidence pieces and artifacts. Our work continued throughout this year as we finalized much of the documentation needed. Thank you for attending the faculty meeting as the AdvancEd visit was closing in, asking relevant questions, looking at the documentation and potential Q & A to prepare for the visit and sharing with the students the vision "purpose" statement for LWTHS. Whether your class was visited by the AdvancED team or not, THANK YOU all for showcasing our students and schools! We do great work each and every day and it is an honor to know that we had a direct impact on the AMAZING district results shared below.
*Pay special attention to the comments from Dr. Elisabeth Davis, who was one of the two AdvancED team members to visit LWTHS/LWTC!
