Shout outs!
Shout out to Nicki for creating a rich K-2 Humanities vision for our teachers and Rocketeers! It was exciting to see our K-2 teachers pumped about planning for guided reading and independent work stations this week! This is going to make such a strong impact on our short term vision for this year and our long term vision of "closing the achievement gap" within our lifetime by closing academic gaps much sooner for our babies!
Shout out to Caity for being the mastermind behind orchestrating our new 3/4 Humanities block! You took my vision for the block and made it come to life within hours of us discussing it! You have done a phenomenal job with executing and amplifying the vision, organizing the STEP groups, creating the support necessary for our 3/4 teachers and ensuring that every logistical need was taken care of. When I think about transformational education, I think of the work you've done with that team and our 3/4 Rocketeers!
Get some much needed rest!
Truly take the time these next two days to really/actually/seriously UNPLUG! Don't open your computer, don't send an e-mail, don't look at intellectual prep plans. Don't do anything.
Below, I've included a link to a collection of articles on ways to effectively unplug. Read them and follow their advice.
You all work super, duper hard each day. Give some TLC to your body and your family this week.
I couldn't ask God for a better leadership team to have my back to be my support system.
Enjoy your break.
