Principal Post
The 2019 DuJardin Jog-a-Thon was a huge success. The weather was a little steamy but our DuJardin students and staff braved the heat! The students and staff did an excellent job participating and raising funds for the PTO. Thanks to Mr. Allman and Mr. and Mrs. Nesheim for organizing such a great event, our DuJardin PTO for the wonderful t-shirts, and to all the parent volunteers who helped make this year’s Jog-a-Thon the best ever!! Check out the school website for some awesome pictures and a Jog-a-Thon video.
DuJardin School has a program called Adults Involved in Mentoring Students (AIMS). Adult mentors meet with students once a week during lunch and recess to eat together while doing a variety of other activities like play a game, create a craft, or go out on the playground to shoot hoops. These mentors are trained and go through a background check. This is just another way for students to gain additional positive adult attention throughout the day. If you or anyone else you know is interested in volunteering for this worthwhile program please feel free to contact Mr. Dwyer at 630-894-9200 or mdwyer@sd13.org for further information. Mentor training sessions are being scheduled in the near future.
DuJardin School invites Bloomingdale police officers to school on a regular basis. Officers are invited to meet and greet students and parents in the morning and at the end of day, eat lunch with the students, and walk the building throughout the year. Office Dawn Odoi visits with the students several times a year to present personal safety tips. You may see a squad car or two at DuJardin School from time to time as we want our students to know and thank our first responders whenever possible.
