Meet our New World Language Teachers: Señora Casais & Señora Popova
Hola! I am Señora Casais and I am excited to be a part of the Chatham Cougar Family! It is my first year teaching in Chatham. I have taught for over 14 years in another district. My love for teaching and learning has been shared with students from grades K-8. I was born in Spain and love sharing the Spanish culture and language with our future leaders! I am Señora Popova! I did my MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Iowa. Go Hawkeyes!! I’m passionate about Hispanic Culture and teaching Spanish, which is why I am a Spanish teacher. I have taught Spanish at the University of Iowa and Berlitz. I have covered maternity leaves in the district before coming to LAF. I own a Language School, and recently I feel blessed to be teaching at Lafayette!! I am looking forward to an amazing school year!!
This school year, the students will be learning many new things in fun and engaging ways! We can’t wait to learn more about our wonderful students. Stay tuned for all the fun!

Box Tops for Education
Once again, Lafayette will be participating in the Box Tops for Education program to earn additional money for our school. Last year, LAF was able to raise $400!
The program is changing!
We can still collect paper Box Tops (or bonus certificates) while they last. You can double dip by scanning your receipt and sending in the paper Box Tops!
Our first paper collection will run until Friday, October 25, 2019. To make the submission process more efficient, we would appreciate your help as follows:
· Send in any Boxtops you have collected in a sealable (Ziploc-type) bag or envelope OR
· Tape or glue Box Tops on a plain piece of paper
· Box Tops can be submitted to your child's teacher or to the basket in the LAF school office
Stop and Shop & Shoprite Cards
And, don't forget to register your Stop and Shop & Shoprite cards to earn rewards for the school.
~ Visit www.stopandshop.com and select Savings & Rewards. Follow the prompts to create your online account. You’ll need your 13-digit Stop & Shop Card number and the School ID# (06274). REMEMBER…if you supported our school last year, you DO NOT need to register your card again!
~ Visit Shop Rite for My School and link your PricePlus card.

Costumes cannot promote the use of drugs, alcohol or weapons of any kind.
No pretend “prop” weapons such as water pistols, knives or swords.
Costumes may not be offensive or inappropriate in any way.
Students choosing to wear costumes must be able to sit at their desk without distracting others and participate fully in all class activities.
