Breaking News
Author Joelle Charbonneau will visit our school on Wednesday, October 2nd to talk about her books (including her new book Verify) and her career. At the end of her appearance, she will sign books for any students who wish to purchase them. Classroom Happenings
ELA: Mrs. Day & Mrs.Goosen
This week we continued reading Refugee with a focus on point of view and writing about reading in detail. We worked hard on writing out text evidence and finding the best piece of text evidence.
At this point, students are required to read at home daily. Two choice novels are due at the end of September.

Science: Mr. Geringer & Mrs. Oliver
This week students wrapped up and finished their research and presentations on their chosen object in space. Presentations were given on Wednesday and Thursday.
Students will now practice writing compare and contrast statements using the information the students researched along with that of another student to write statements identifying similarities and differences between the celestial objects.
Social Studies: Mrs. Goosen & Mr. Landolt
This week students began work on their Geography Unit. Students have learned about the 5 themes of geography, and practiced analyzing aspects of the 5 themes.
Next week, students will analyze political maps in an effort to gain a better understanding of the current landscape of the earth.
