Headteacher's Comment
I hope this newsletter finds you all well and having enjoyed a lovely Summer break. We're now back into the swing of things at school and the children have settled back into school routine brilliantly.
There have been several changes with staffing since last year so there may be some unfamiliar faces around school! Miss Harrison has taken over in Year 3/4 as Miss Railton begins her final half term working with small groups and supporting across school until October when she will begin her maternity leave. In Year 5/6, we welcome Mrs Myerscough who is an experienced KS2 teacher. We're delighted to welcome both to the Chopps.
As for myself, I wanted to thank those who have offered kind words and best wishes on my appointment as Headteacher. I'm thrilled and very proud to be leading the school forwards, building on all that we have achieved together over the past years.
Thanks and welcome back once again.
Mr R. Smith

Summer Camps
A huge thank you to all of the staff who supported this camp to make it possible.
Her Majesty the Queen 1926 - 2022
All here at Choppington Primary School were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty the Queen.
Along with the rest of the nation we offer our deepest condolences to the Royal Family at this time. The Queen will be forever remembered for her devotion to this country.
As I'm sure many of you will have seen, there will be a bank holiday on Monday 19th September on the official date of the State Funeral.
The Department for Education (DfE) has confirmed that all schools should close.
The order for the funeral to be a bank holiday was approved by King Charles III at St James Palace in Westminster as he was formally declared head of state.
We will re-open on Tuesday 20th September.
