Corgi Tales

Message From Mr. Fay & Mrs. Henson

Happy June, Corgis!

Corgi students, staff, and parents...WE DID IT! We all made it through the challenge of learning from home. Bravo to each of us for our efforts to help make sure our students were learning and growing. Each of us played an important role in getting through it TOGETHER.

Be sure to do everything you can to enjoy your summer, you certainly earned it. Have fun, relax, learn something new, read a book, do that thing you love to do, do some math, and most importantly...spend time with your family.

The pride we take in Crossroads is immense and we hope you feel the same way. We thank you from the bottom of our heart!

Have a great summer!

Mr. Fay and Mrs. Henson

P.S. Please exercise your right and get out to vote tomorrow.

Communication Survey

It is the vision of the Wentzville School District to be a model of excellence that sets the standard and maximizes the potential of every student. In order to continuously improve on our commitment to provide a quality educational experience for your child(ren), we ask that you take the time to complete this short survey regarding school and District communications. If you have students at more than one school, you may fill out the survey separately for each school if you wish to provide more specific feedback, but you will need to do that on different devices.

Extended School Closure Survey

We'd also like your feedback on how things have gone in the WSD since the extended closure began in the spring. Please take this Extended School Closing Survey so we learn what you think. Thank you for your feedback and assistance!

State of Missouri Art Award!

Missouri Senator Dr. Bob Onder, of the 2nd District serving the St. Charles area, drafted a resolution to recognize four of our Corgis on the Senate floor during a visit to Jefferson City. Well, the trip didn't happen so Senator Onder mailed framed certificates for each of our students. Congrats to each of you, what a wonderful accomplishment!

Little Free Library

Our Corgis, Alaire and Stella Palmer, built and opened up a Little Free Library on their very own street. They had the grand opening on Sunday, May 31. When the sisters were asked about why they built it, they said, "We just want people to be able to read!"

If you'd like to borrow any books or to donate, please search our school's zip code at this site: You will see their library, it is called: Alaire and Stella's Library.

Way to go, Alaire and Stella! Your Crossroads family is very proud of your efforts!

PTA Update

Happy summer, Corgi families! We are working with teachers and staff on any activity/event from trunk or treat and trivia night that was an auction item. We are so sorry we didn't get a chance to honor those auction item winners but we will do our best to get those scheduled as soon as school starts in the fall. Please feel free to reach out to our PTA if you have any questions. Have a wonderful summer!

Every 10 years, the Constitution requires that all residing in the U.S. be counted. The 2020 Census counts the population in the United States and five U.S. territories and it is particularly important for school districts. The 2020 Census will inform funding for educational programs that benefit our children, such as special education, after-school activities and school meal programs. It’s more than just a count, it’s an opportunity to shape the next generation. Each home has received an invitation this month to respond to a short questionnaire online (new!), by phone, or by mail. The information you receive has a special Census ID number you will need in order to respond and "Count Day" is April 1, but you can complete it now. All responses to Census Bureau surveys and censuses are confidential and protected under Title 13 of the U.S. Code. Under this law, the Census Bureau is required to keep respondent information confidential. Be sure to take the time to fill out the questionnaire - so everyone in the WSD counts! New Boundaries Approved for 2020-2021 School Year

The Board of Education has approved new boundaries for the District's elementary, middle and high schools as presented by the Boundary Committee and MGT Consulting to accommodate continued enrollment growth and the new elementary school and the new high school currently under construction. The committee, which met five times from May through November, was comprised of parents, community members, staff members and a Board member.

The new elementary boundaries will go into effect for the 2020-2021 school year when the new elementary school being built on Interstate Drive in Wentzville is scheduled to open. The new middle school and high school boundaries will go into effect beginning in the 2021-2022 school year when the new high school being built near West Meyer Road and North Point Prairie Road in Wentzville is scheduled to open.

Please know that everyone involved in this process appreciates how very personal and significant this change is for some students and families. We respect that and we are confident that our caring staff will ensure a smooth transition for affected students and their families.

For additional details about the new boundaries and the process of developing them, please visit the District website.
