Happy New Year!
We wish that all of you experience the very best of life this year, stay in good health and enjoy some prosperity. May all your riding be memorable and keep facing the sun, so the shadows stay behind you :-)
What a wonderful way to wrap up the year. We had 39 members and guests show up for the holiday lunch held this year at the Bumblebee Ranch. Kelly and her team did a fantastic job with all the accomodations, (loved the heated bathrooms) fantastic lunch and beautiful weather! We had 26 riders break out into three groups and our three trialbosses; Kelly, Ward, and Pecos, made sure that all came back safe and sound! Hats off to all of you and thanks for making this a very enjoyable afternoon.
Jean Anderson ran the Holiday gift exchange and it looked like every one was rewarded by Santa for being good. Another special thanks to Sandy, our chief organizer, planner, and who made sure that all ran smoothly; which it did. Thanks Sandy for a superb job!!
We collected $100.00 in donations for our Horse Angels that were presented yesterday to AERO. Thank you to all who were able to pitch in, as they were very happy to receive the donation, and will put it to good use at the rescue.
So looking ahead to 2013, we ain't slowing down!
On Saturday January 12th, Gigi will be leading a ride heading out from the Tonto National Forrest- 144th st - . This is a beautiful ride I am looking forward to! So please start signing up! and Thanks Gigi

Tonto National Forest
Saturday, Jan. 12th, 10am
144th Street North of Dynamite
Length: 2 to 21/2 hours
Level 1: easy ride
Leader: Gigi Streitwieser
Description: Beautiful desert ride in the Tonto national Forest, lush green desert with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The footing is very good, mostly sandy, and the ride is basically level with just a few wash crossings. The washes are very shallow and easy to cross. There is a cross over gate at the beginning of the ride leading out of the parking lot, which we will cross over again on our return. There is also the possibility of encountering ATV's and bird hunters.
Directions: From Cave Creek Rd go East on Dynamite to 144th Street. Turn left on 144th Street and continue north about 21/2 miles. There is a dirt parking area on your right that is large enough for approx 7 trailers. Strongly Recommend trailering with a friend due to tight parking. The parking area is tight but is very noticeable from the roadway. Pack a lunch so we can have a group gathering after the ride.
