Rainy Day Updates for Parents
Rainy Day Arrival and Dismissal:
As it stands now, our rainy day plan for arrival will remain the same as it is now; students will be sent directly to class. For dismissal, we can no longer accommodate student dismissal from Village Hall due to social distancing regulations and limited space, so we will need to dismiss students out the gates upon dismissal. Please remember to:
1. Send your child to school with an umbrella and a hooded jacket during the rainy season.
2. Pick up your child on time.
Rainy Day Snack Breaks:
In regards to the students’ snack/mask free breaks, aides will come into the classroom to release teachers to take their personal breaks. Students would be required to remain at their desks, seated behind the plastic barriers. When students are not eating/drinking, the aides will suggest that the students can draw, read quietly, stretch, use the restroom, or provide them with a “Go Noodle” movement break by their desk area. They may also continue working on assignments for that 15 min and/or talk quietly at their seats. All students will remain socially distanced and be required to have masks on after the 15 minute break is over.

HAPPY MINUTE UPDATE AND INFORMATION:
HAPPY MINUTE UPDATE AND INFORMATION:
We are excited that students are able to go back to in person learning!
Don’t forget that we are offering Happy Minute for grades 4th and 5th. (Due to little or no attendance, Happy Minute for 2nd and 3rd grade will be put on hold until future notice.)
Happy Minute is a semi structured peer cyber social weekly event. The kids will engage in socializing activities and just get to know each other in a low stress, monitored environment. We have organized a few games, but will also let the students set the pace and conversation topics.
We are adjusting the Happy Minute schedule to accommodate our Bridge and in-person students at the same time. Therefore, the Happy Minute schedule will be changed to 11:30-12:15 on Tuesdays starting on February 9th! Below is the link 😊

Village MFLC
MFLC Updates 2.8.2021
Michele and Kim wanted to remind you of the MFLC program as we enter back into in-campus learning and in case you have parents reaching out for support or notice students appearing more nervous or irritable. MFLCs provide free, non-medical, confidential counseling to active-duty military families. At this time, we can provide telephone sessions, video sessions through Zoom, and socially distanced sessions in the park for individuals and families. For all video and in-person contact, a parent or guardian must attend each session.
In addition to individual and family counseling, Michele Alexander and Kimberly Badt are hosting Military Kids Club both virtually through Zoom and socially distanced in the park. This is a great opportunity for students to develop and practice coping skills, learn appropriate emotional expression, use friendship skills, explore topics of deployment/moving/military stressors and more all while doing arts/crafts, reading books, and playing games. Military Kids Club is offered before and after school to accommodate both AM and PM cohorts.
