From the Principal
Dear Copeland Families,
What a great start to an unusual school year! We are so excited to have our Colts back with us virtually and face-to-face. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work out the kinks as we embrace new ways of teaching and learning.
Our school hours are now 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Instruction begins at 8:00 in the morning. Students who arrive after 8:05 are marked tardy. Bus riders are never marked tardy. Please make every effort to have your child here at school on time.
If your child is joining us face-to-face, please remember to provide a water bottle labeled with your child's name each day. Our water fountains are used only for filling water bottles this school year. Masks are a must have accessory for all face-to-face students as well.
Thanks to all families of our CFISD Connect students for ensuring that your children are logging in on time each day and are remaining engaged in their studies. Students and parents should refrain from taking screenshots and screen recordings of virtual classrooms without explicit permission from the teacher and other class members. Please arrange for a dedicated workspace for your child and be sure they are dressed for the school day. If you are having technical difficulties, please note that our staff may not be able to assist you right away, but they will get back with you to help as soon as they are able.
Our grading for 2020-2021 will revert back to pre-COVID guidelines. Our staff is ready to assist you if you have any questions or concerns.
Below is a picture of our Admin Team, so you can put faces with names.
It is going to be a great school year. At Copeland, we stick together. Thanks for your support of our amazing staff and school. We love our Colts!

Students in grades K-5 will have four opportunities during the school year to use “credit-by-exam” to accelerate to another grade level. Students will only have one opportunity to test for each grade level considered.
To apply to take the test to skip kindergarten, a student must be 5 by September 1st and registered in a CFISD school. To apply to take the test to skip grade 1, a student must be 6 by September 1st and enrolled in a CFISD school.
Students who earn scores of 80% or better on each component of the credit-by-exam will qualify to advance one grade. Only one grade level may be “skipped” each year. No retests will be given.
If you are interested in getting more information about credit-by-exam, please contact one of the school counselors.
