Busy Warriors!
We also had our Model UN day here at Schroeder. This is a truly incredible experience for all of our 10th graders and others affiliated with Model UN Club. Our Global History 10 teachers and the entire building at Schroeder works together to create, critically think, and celebrate the project. This has become a rite of passage here at Schroeder. Once again, our sophomores rose to the occasion and did a fantastic job!
Thanks for all of your support,
Paul

Important NEWS from PHYSICAL EDUCATION:
Exciting opportunities in Physical Education!! Students in Physical Education class will have the opportunity to select a new class or remain in their current class second semester. Your son or daughter’s Physical Education teacher will be explaining the process to them and the choices they will have next semester. Students will continue to take PE during the time period they are currently taking it. Students will receive a Google Classroom code in advance and have access to an electronic copy of the choices they will have next semester. This will be a choice they make electronically. The official choice will occur:
Sunday, January 13th at 7:00 PM
Students are encouraged to log onto their Google Classroom a little before 7:00 pm in order to make their choice when it becomes available. Students can use their Chromebooks or their phones by signing into their Google account. Student’s guidance counselors WILL NOT be involved with this process. If students have a conflict with this time (EX. they are working, etc.) a parent or guardian can log onto their Google account and sign up for them. A majority of our students will have the opportunity to choose a new class or remain in the same class BUT there are a few classes that DO NOT have another class that period to choose from. The opportunity to sign-up will be available until all students select a class BUT the best opportunity to secure the class they prefer would be to sign-up at 7:00 PM on Sunday evening. The official switch will occur when the second semester begins. We are excited to offer students the opportunity to choose activities in Physical Education that best align with their interests to promote lifelong fitness!!
Lifeguarding is an option in PE!
One Physical Education Choice open to all 9th, 10th, and 11th graders is Aquatics (Lifeguarding). Students receive 2 College Credits via MCC if enrolled. Upon successful completion of Lifeguarding, one may receive certification in the following: Lifeguarding (pool), Waterfront Lifeguarding, Pool & Waterfront Lifeguarding, and/or Shallow Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid. This January, students will be signing up for next year courses with their counselors, if interested they should sign up for Aquatics. If you have any questions please call Mary Dorman 670-5020 or email her Mary_Dorman@webstercsd.org.

***ATTENTION – 9-11TH GRADE STUDENTS/FAMILIES***
Jan 2-Feb 15
All students will be working with their counselor to finalize course selections
- Changes to requests must go through counselor once finalized.
- Changes can be made through the beginning of May.
To complete online course registration:
- As you make your selections have the WSHS Course Sheet in front of you. This is a list of all courses available. Descriptions are available when you do a course search (see following steps)
- Log on to Infinite Campus
- Select Course Registration: WSHS 19 – 20 in the Index
- You will notice that "Required courses" have already been selected. "Required Courses" are those classes that your teachers have recommended. If you agree with the recommendation of your teacher, you do not need to add the class again.
- If you would like to add another class or elective, or differ from your teacher's recommendation:
- Select Course Search
- Type the course number or name in the search box, then click "Go"
- Click on the title of the course. You will see a course description. Then scroll to the bottom and click "Request as an alternate"
- If your selection does not match the teacher recommendation, you will be able to discuss options with your counselor during your scheduling meeting
Helpful tips when registering for courses:
- Consider your course selection carefully. Choose courses to fill graduation requirements but remember to take advantage of the many opportunities available to you in high school. Colleges are concerned with the academic strength of a student's program. Admissions representatives like to see students who have taken challenging courses and exceeded the minimum number of credits in math, science, and languages other than English.
- While it is important to have a challenging schedule, it is equally important to do well in your classes. Do not select more than you can handle.
- Look into the vast elective program that is offered. There are electives in art, business, english, math, music, science, social studies and technology.
- A weak senior year will impact admission decisions related to college. Electives that add strength to a senior schedule include, but are not limited to: computer science principles, psychology, Latin, Microsoft Office, public speaking, digital earth, advertising & graphic design, multimedia and communications.
