The Groves Grapevine
Building the future, one student at a time! 10/29/21
Our Groves families help us THRIVE in reading!
By having conversations about the sounds of words, especially what happens when sounds are replaced with other other sounds at the beginning or ends of words, you are equipping your child with the foundation for reading!

Introducing our new computer lab teacher!
My name is Lynnette Ventura. I am originally from Wisconsin and moved to Texas when in 1997. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for almost 16 years and we have one beautiful, amazing daughter who is 2 years old. We have 2 rescue dogs Lily, 11 and Nessa who is almost 1. We love to spend our family time outdoors and at the lake. In 2014, I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Business with a concentration in sales and marketing. Teaching is a whole new journey in my life. I am loving it.
Thank you, Groves Elementary family, for making me feel so welcome. I love the kids and staff. Everyone here is so great!!
21 Day Challenge Update
Thank you to everyone that has completed the 21 Day Challenge Final Assessment. If you haven’t been able to do that yet, here is the link https://bityl.co/9NYQ . Even if your student forgot to have their healthy snack many days, will you still fill out the final assessment please? They just want honest feedback, and this will help our school in our competition. Tuesday, November 2nd is the last day to fill it out.
As always, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Thanksgiving Meal Update
Families,
We have some important information to share with you about our annual Thanksgiving meal. For those of you new to our school, every year prior to the holiday break, we host a Thanksgiving feast for our students and invite our families to join them. Unfortunately, COVID-19 continues to cause nationwide supply chain disruptions. For this reason, we will be unable to host our traditional feast with our families.
We remain hopeful that we will be able to provide some type of Thanksgiving meal for students the week of Nov. 15-19, but due to the unpredictability of supplies, we cannot make that commitment at this time. Of course, families are always welcome to visit and eat lunch with their students like any other school day.
We share your disappointment and appreciate your understanding. If circumstances change, we will let you know as soon as possible.

COVID Notification Letters
- If there is a confirmed positive case in your child's class, you will receive a notification letter.
- This letter does not mean your child has to quarantine. It is simply notifying you of the case.
- There are no whole-school notifications this year for a positive case. They are only going to the exact class in which there was a positive test result.
- COVID daily total case reports by campus can be found at Wylie ISD/Health Services/COVID cases or https://www.wylieisd.net/Page/16303
