Swartz Creek Board of Education Candidate
MY MISSION STATEMENT
"Positive Change"
“I believe that with positive change and commitment to the community, teachers, and students we can thrive to be a better place. I feel I can achieve that by involving myself in school functions and community events. I will be willing to work beside and communicate with my fellow board members. I will be willing to back my words with my actions.”
"LOVING AND LIVING IN OUR SWARTZ CREEK COMMUNITY"
I have never taken life for granted and I am grateful for everyday!
The reason I am running for the Board of Education is because I feel I have a vested interest in the schools and community of Swartz Creek. My husband Jeff was a graduate of Swartz Creek, and my daughter Makenna attends Morrish Elementary. I have also worked in the Swartz Creek district for 15 years, and would like to help bring new ideas and build a stronger bond between the schools and the community.
I have been an integral part of the Swartz Creek Community by:
Working on the Morrish Parent Teacher Organization as the President for two years, and the secretary for one year.
Being heavily involved in my daughter’s school as a homeroom mother.
Assisting the Morrish Elementary to help the PTO raise money for school activities and field trips.
Working on special projects to strengthen community bonds between Swartz Creek and Flushing for two years during the Relay for Life Cancer Awareness walk.
Becoming an active in our church community as the Director of the Children’s Church.
I'm looking forward to being a team member on the Board of Education, and to work with the Swartz Creek staff and administration as well as serving the community.
I want to contribute back to the community that has given so much to my family.
