MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND
Principal's Message
Although the nation is engrossed in trying to maintain some sense of normalcy during the world's COVID-19 pandemic, I want to take just a few lines of my message on this Memorial Day weekend to honor the men and women of the United States who paid the ultimate price serving our country. Their military service is worthy of respect, appreciation, and recognition one day each year. I hope you will join me and humbly extend your thoughts and gratitude to the families of those service men and women who lost their lives serving our great country.
I have a few links to share with Lincoln families. Many of you may have already had the opportunity to enjoy these videos, but wanted to share them again, just the same.
Our Lincoln PTO created a thoughtful video to share with our staff during Staff Appreciation Click here for the Student Staff Appreciation Video.
Our Graduating Class of 2020 made the papers this year. In our efforts to celebrate our students' graduation, we were able to include their photos in the Journal!
Click here for access to the Journal's graduation pages!
I doubt that anyone's weekend will look exactly how you have celebrated Memorial Day in the past, but I hope that you will find a way to enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation.
Mr. Suminski
LINCOLN PTO . . . TO THE CLASS OF 2020
Hello 8th Grade Families,
We hope your graduates liked the yard sign, drawstring bag, light-up wristband and baby picture video. A big THANK YOU to the teachers and staff who delivered the yard signs and gifts, and to Kristin Hahn for all her work to create the baby picture video. Also, THANK YOU to the school and district for the special graduation section in the MP Journal. It is a wonderful tribute to our 2020 graduates.
The graduate t-shirts have been printed and anyone who requested “bulk shipping” through the PTO will get more details about the distribution plan as soon as it’s determined. THANK YOU to Lisa Wheeler for coordinating this process.
What’s Next ...
A memory video is getting created by Mr. Ruggiero. If you would like to provide any pictures of your student from their Lincoln activities, teams, clubs, etc. ... please email them to Mr. Ruggiero at bruggiero@d57.org by May 25.
After June 1 ... We will collect pictures from you of your student in their graduation gowns from June 2-5 (after they pick them up). We are looking into the most efficient way to collect the pictures and will have further details in the next newsletter.
Ideas for a special “send off” are still being explored and further details will be sent in the next newsletter.
Prospect Spirit Wear is being offered by the Prospect Athletic Boosters through an online store. Please click here https://phsknights2020.itemorder.com/sale if you are interested in ordering Prospect Spirit Wear. Orders need to be placed by June 7 and will be shipped directly to you.

OUR LRC DIRECTOR, MRS. WALSH
Dear Parent(s) and Guardians:
In preparation for Lincoln’s end-of-the year collection of school materials, I’ll be sending out an update on Friday, May 22, 2020, with items your student has checked out of Lincoln’s library. Our collection is a community investment in our children. Thus, it’s essential we ensure items are returned. At this moment, we have nearly $20,000 in checked-out materials.
Please take a moment with your child to locate materials, placing them in a safe spot to be returned along with Chromebooks, during Lincoln’s “Drop Off Days.”
On behalf of Lincoln’s students and staff, thank you for taking the time to collect and return class novels and other library items, for everyone in our learning community.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Michelle Walsh

THE SCHOOL NURSE . . .
As social distancing measures begin to ease up, it is going to be very important to do the basic things we can do to stay healthy. Now is a good time to teach your children to develop the habits of good handwashing (all surfaces using soap for at least 20 seconds), keeping your hands away from your face, coughing or sneezing into your elbow and away from others, and staying home if you are sick.
HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT PHYSICAL AND DENTAL REQUIREMENTS AT LINCOLN:
