The only way to ensure never getting addicted to tobacco is to never try it in the first place, and believe me you don't want to get addicted. Once you are addicted it is very difficult but not impossible to quit. About 45% of smokers try to quit yearly not all of them make it though. Approximately 70% of smokers want to quit completely. Tobacco contains 4,000 different chemicals, and 50 of them are carcinogenic, which means cancer causing. With smokeless tobacco the nicotine stays in your blood longer than when smoking. Smokeless tobacco also causes heart disease, gum disease, and oral lesions. Formaldehyde is a chemical in cigarettes and is a embalming fluid. It is highly poisonous and used to preserve bodies, but yeah go ahead and breath it into your lungs. Tobacco leads to disease and disability, Smoking causes cancer, heart disease, stroke, and lung disease. To quit you should use gum, lozenges, patches. Anti-anxiety meds may also help. To keep your hands busy you may want to learn how to knit do puzzles or use stress balls. You really shouldn't start smoking and if you already do i advise quitting. There's no reason to slowly kill yourself because you think you look cool!
