Philly Playwright Brings New Work to East Pennsboro
On Friday, March 17th, Marjorie Bicknell came to speak to Mr. Mansilla’s Theatre Production and Performance class about her work as a playwright and member of The Dramatists Guild of America. In exchange, she made a special request of our students:
Bicknell recently finished a new comedy entitled Bert’s Big Night, which had never been performed – until Friday. Twelve of our high school students volunteered their afternoon to give the playwright her first full reading of the script. Junior Maya Warrick said of the experience, “Being the first to read it was so cool! We couldn’t stop laughing!”
Bicknell said, “I was thrilled with the reading! The kids did such a great job and put so much effort into it.” Thanks to the success of this reading at EPAHS, Bicknell is planning to propose further readings of Guild writers’ works at schools all over the country!
Nutrition and Culinary Arts Students Food Truck Project
We love when our students collaborate and create new ideas!
Here several nutrition and culinary arts students brainstormed how to create a food truck menu that is both tasty and nutritionally dense. Once their vision is complete, the marketing students will create logos and promotional materials for them to choose!

EPAHS Awarded Pennsylvania State School of Character
We are Panther Proud to announce that East Pennsboro Area High School has been named a 2023 State School of Character! Schools around the country went through a rigorous application process for this prestigious honor, and only 73 schools nationwide were named. In fact, our high school is the only school in the entire state of PA to be chosen.
The selection criteria were based on “…creating a caring school community where everyone feels they belong, providing students with opportunities to practice and reflect on their character strengths, and engaging families and communities as partners in the school’s character initiative.” It was noted in the award letter that our Character Education Committee has “…worked very hard and extensively…to lead and inspire all levels and stakeholders within the high school.”
We are thankful for the leadership of Mr. Dan Peck and Mr. Brian Moore, along with our Character Education Committee members Kelly Burkhart, Dave Blom, Margeaux Cronce, Leanne Sanders, Melina Mousoupetros, Betsy Standland, Ann Wotring, Stephen Rutt, Kirah Hoachlander, Christina Zeller, and Hillary Miller in securing this honor. We are Panther Proud!
We could use a few more leprechauns to help us in the HS kitchen! To apply please contact Chartwells.

Parking and Drop-off Reminders
Parents/Guardians - If you drop your student off at school, please take note of the map below so you are aware of the drop-off zone at the high school to ensure we are not blocking our bus lane. Cars are NOT permitted to enter the bus lane. Staff will be out in the parking lot to help direct cars both before and after school to ensure safe and efficient parking lot operations.
Please only utilize the designated Drop Off Lane and move Forward as far as possible to help keep traffic flowing and students on time for school.
Students who drive! - Please park in the appropriate Junior or Senior lot as marked on the map. Parking passes will be on sale in the Athletic Office during the first week of school. You must have a parking pass in order to avoid being ticketed.
