- Exemplars Update: Any new to FISD teachers will not be in the Exemplars system until October 10th. Therefore, returning teachers (or Lisa) may need to help the new teachers access Exemplars tasks prior to October 10th. Resources for Exemplars are located on each grade level's cluster planner. Exemplars Resources are found on each grade level's cluster planner.
- MSTAR/ESTAR:
The purpose of the ESTAR/MSTAR US are to help guide instructional decisions in relation to students’ readiness for algebra. The results, which are reported using the Response to Intervention tiers, can be used to help teachers determine if students are on track or at risk for meeting curricular expectations in algebra and for algebra readiness. Results also help teachers determine the intensity of the instructional support students need if they have been identified as at risk for not meeting curricular expectations in algebra and for algebra readiness. Teachers are able to monitor students’ risk status by administering comparable forms of the ESTAR/MSTAR US in fall, winter, and early spring.
When it is?
Administration Windows:
- Fall: Now–October 14, 2016
- Winter: January 9, 2017–February 10, 2017
- Spring: April 3, 2017–May 5, 2017
- All 2-5 students have been loaded into the ESTAR/MSTAR files. Teachers will be receiving an email with instructions to set their passwords. Emails to reset password come fromnoreply@epsilen.com.
We will have a soft roll-out of ESTAR for the fall administration with every campus having one classroom in each of the grade levels participate in the ESTAR (one 2nd grade classroom, one 3rd grade classroom, and one 4th grade classroom). All 2nd-5th grade math classrooms will be taking the winter and spring administrations of ESTAR/MSTAR. (I will be coordinating which classrooms will be doing the fall assessment.)
Who will be taking MSTAR this Fall?

What will we do with the data after the ESTAR/MSTAR?
