Virtual Open House Information - October 15th
October 1, 2020
Hello families! I hope the first two weeks of school have gone well and your child is having success with in-person/virtual learning. Thank you for all of your patience and flexibility over the past month. I cannot tell you how impressed I have been with our students. They are following all of our safety protocols, including wearing their masks and social distancing. I sincerely appreciate you speaking to your child about the importance of these protective measures. Our number one priority is the safety of our students and staff.
I’m happy to announce that this year’s open house will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020. Due to COVID-19, our Open House will be virtual this year. But don’t worry, we still have some exciting things in store for you. During the approximately one hour event, several of your children’s teachers will give you a brief overview of their curriculum and what to expect throughout the year. Other topics include AIS services, updates on arrival and dismissal, as well as information about our breakfast and lunch program. We will also be presenting information about our PBIS program and sharing how students can earn Tommie tickets whether they attend in person or remotely. At the end of the evening, parents will have an opportunity to participate in a Q and A with your child’s teachers and myself.
Please note the schedule for each grade level:
6th Grade - 5:45 pm
7th Grade - 6:30 pm
8th Grade - 7:15 pm
A link to your child’s open house will be sent to your child’s school email address around October 8th.
Near the end of the evening, each grade level will raffle off a special prize! Every family who is logged in when the raffle occurs will have a chance to win a $50.00 gift card from Amazon, courtesy of the PBIS Team. Don’t forget, you must be online when the drawing occurs to be eligible for the gift card.
Our goal is to make this year’s virtual open house a truly special event. If you have any questions about the event, please don’t hesitate to contact me at 654-9005. Your child’s teachers and I look forward to seeing you on October 15th.
