Bobcat Bullet Points:
- Remember, if your child must remain home from school for an extended period of time he/she can (and should) access work via Canvas. Check out this amazing parent resource for Canvas support and questions: https://www.dvusd.org/canvas
- LOST AND FOUND: If your child is missing something, it is likely in our lost and found. Remind your child to check the lost and found for waterbottles, lunchboxes, etc.
- Do you have questions about current policies related to Covid 19? Check out the DVUSD Parent FAQ resource for answers.
- Bike Racks: Our bike racks stay open in the evening. SF is not responsible for bikes, scooters, or boards that have been left over night. Be sure your child takes their bike, scooter, or skateboard home each day. Thanks!

All Things EQ Message (from the founder Danna Evans):
The motto next week is :
I show up positively for myself and the people around me.
Reflecting on how we "show up" for ourselves and other people is a powerful question to ask ourselves. For example, how does your child show up for school, or homework, or chores? Physically, they may be doing their homework or chores, but mentally, how are they experiencing the activity? What we tell ourselves about school or homework, or chores matters because it affects our experience. For example, do we think of homework as punishment, or do we think of homework as an opportunity to practice new skills? These messages are just as important as the physical act of getting our homework done because they form habitual thought patterns that lay down the foundations for our beliefs.
"The highest reward for a man's toil is not what he gets for it but what he becomes by it." – John Ruskin
Our Four Questions poster,
entitled "How are you Showing up?" can help students think about their thinking.
The Four Questions are:
1. Am I being kind and helpful in this moment?
2. Am I using positive self-talk?
3. Am I making an honest effort?
4. Am I focusing on solutions instead of problems?
How we treat ourselves and the messages we send ourselves matter. Of course, we want our children to complete their homework, but wouldn't it be great if they could learn to enjoy or value it as well?
"It's good to have an end to journey toward;
but it's the journey that matters in the end."
-Ernest Hemingway
