"I longed to read everything I possibly could, and the things I read in turn produced new yearnings." - Patti Smith
Reading Roundup has started!
As a class we are currently reading the 2014 Newbery Medal winner!
Can you ESTIMATE how many jelly beans there are in this jar?
What are we learning?
Math Homework - Word problems sheet has been handed out and is due this Friday!
Reading: Students are still currently working on being able to pick out the right books for them and building stamina to become endurance readers. As fourth graders we are exploring genres and getting to know ourselves as readers. This week we will be working on comprehension strategies and close reading.
Reading Homework - Students have just received book logs from Reading Round-Up(they do not have to participate in Reading Round-Up, but I do need the logs filled out to keep track of their reading minutes for a reading grade). They are expected to read a minimum requirement of 20 minutes a night or at least a 100 minutes by Friday. Reading logs will be checked on Fridays, so they will need to stay in the students binders to get a grade.
BP Reminders:
PTA- Don't forget to search Bell Prairie Elementary PTA on facebook and "like" their page, to keep up on what's happening at BP.
