The assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand

On June 28th, 1914 Archduke Francis Ferdinand and 5 others were assassinated. The purpose of the murderer was to make Austria-Hungary disappear and turn it into a bigger part of Yugoslavia. This caused the war because Austria-Hungary was mad about the assassination so they issued a war against Yugoslavia, and they declined but Austria-Hungary went with it anyways.

It was British ship that was sunk by a German u-boat in 1915. This made the British angry so that is why they declared war against Germany because Lusitania had 1,198 people on it, and they all died. This is one of the main causes of the World War

MAIN (Militarism Alliances Imperialism Nationalism)

Militarism- countries building up their army resulted in competition, so every country just kept building their army up more and more. And since their armies were so big, they wanted to start using their military

Alliances- it involved more countries in the fight

Imperialism- the fight for bigger reigns

Nationalism- extreme love for a persons country resulted in people wanting war to prove theircountry best
