Center Community Chat
September 25, 2022
Dear Center Families,
It was wonderful to have a full-house for curriculum night. Just one more sign of a return to normalcy after over two tumultuous years.
Center staff members learned some valuable information and strategies, from Cindy Goldberg, to support students with attentional and executive functioning needs on the professional development half-day. Ms. Goldberg will be back, virtually, for a parent presentation on October 27th. We'll share more specifics as we get closer to the parent night.
Dismissal Procedures: Please send in a note for teachers let them know of changes to dismissal plan. Please email the change to Chris Ely as well at elyc@chelmsford.k12.ma.us. Changes to a student’s after school plans must be made by 2:30. If you did not send in a letter you must call the office by 2:30 PM. Students will not be dismissed from the office after 2:45, you will need to pick your student up at 3:18 in the cafeteria.
School Council Member Needed:
Want to learn more about the workings of the school, provide input to our school improvement plan, and partner to create a shared vision for our school environment? Consider joining our school council. School council is a representative, school building-based committee composed of the principal, parents, teachers and a community member. We meet approximately once a month from 4-5PM. We are currently in need of one parent representative. Meetings will begin in October. Please email Dianna at fulreaderd@chelmsford.k12.ma.us if you are interested in joining. If we have more than one person interested we will hold an election. If you know of a community member who might be interested in joining, please have them email Dianna as well.
Staff Update
Please welcome Meg Bates, who is a doctoral psychology student at William James. She will be working with Dr. Julia and our students on Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays. Welcome Ms. Bates!!
Center Chirps:
- There are free COVID test kits at Chelmsford Public Library and at the Chelmsford Health Department.
- We will be conducting bus evacuation drills in the morning on Tuesday at the school. This will not cause delays.
Have a great week.
Warm Regards,
Dianna and Donna
