Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign
Cancer. Not a pretty word. We've all been affected in some way and that is the reason for this Special Edition newsletter. I am happy to share that Stella & Dot is making a difference with its NEW breast cancer awareness boutique - all net proceeds will be donated to raise funds for women's cancer research through the Noreen Fraser Foundation.
I have a HUGE goal: 10 Shop For A Cause Trunk Shows between Sept. 10 - October 31st. In addition to the funds we can raise by selling these beautiful breast cancer awareness (BCA) pieces, I will personally donate ALL of my commission from the sale of BCA items plus 20% of my commissions from ALL trunk show sales (anything in the line) to any Canadian cancer organization - hostess choice. As you know, my dad is fighting both lymphoma and lung cancer at this very moment so the Canadian Lung Association and the Leukaemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada are very near and dear to my heart.
Even just stating this goal, frightens me. Do I really have the time? What if I fail? I feel so helpless watching so many friends and family fight this horrible disease, so you know what? I will find the time because what if I succeed?
Hostesses will enjoy a night with their girlfriends and a free or half-off shopping spree, guests will be able to shop for a cause, and we will ALL be making a difference in the fight against cancer. Every little bit helps.
So, an in-home, at the office or an on-line trunk show? Does your office have a BCA campaign that we can co-partner with? Will you help me reach my goal? Please think about it, check your calendar, and contact me to get first dibs on my available dates.
What's Included in the BCA Boutique?
Resilience Cuff - $39
The rose gold Resilience Cuff is beautiful and was co-designed by our very own Canadian actor and cancer survivor, Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother, the Avengers) and our Chief Creative Director, Blythe Harris. The cuff was inspired by female warriors from history – beautiful, strong, and fearless. We hope that women will wear this bracelet as a symbol of strength and resilience whether supporting a loved one or for their own empowerment.
Survivor Charm - $44
How adorable is the Survivor Charm? What a perfect gift. You can personalize it with a special name, initials or date on the back side too (engraving is free).
Inspire Bracelet - $44
Simple yet meaningful. Rose gold plated malleable brass bar with cut out rope detail sits atop a neutral metallic genuine leather band.
Hope Necklace - $25
A heartfelt message expressed in the highest of standards in silver, gold and rose gold plating. An inspiring gift.
Breast Cancer Awareness Ambassador
Another way to help is to be a BCA Ambassador. What does that mean? I am asking each ambassador if they would be willing to sell 10 BCA items.
Ordering is easy, as you'll be provided with a special link just for your and your customers. I am looking to confirm all ambassadors by Wednesday, September 9th. If you're in, I will provide you with marketing materials, such as images, social media posts, email templates, etc. to help you reach the goal.
Just think - if all ambassadors each sold 10 Resilience Cuffs:
- $900 to the Noreen Fraser Foundation
- $400 to a Canadian cancer organization (*)
- each ambassador will earn $60+ in free hostess credits + 2 items at 50% off
- each customer will receive their Resilience Cuff (delivered right to their doorstep)
Any sales outside of the BCA pieces will add to your total and increase the free hostess credits and the donation I will personally make to a Canadian cancer organization.
* In an effort to maximize the fundraising campaign, stylists receive a much smaller commission on BCA items (about 9%).
Noreen Fraser was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer in 2001. By 2003, her cancer had metastasized to her bones. After years of fighting, Noreen pledged to devote herself to raising money for focused research to find new techniques to prevent and fight cancer.
She started the Noreen Fraser Foundation in 2006 and recruited other survivors and prominent figures in the medical, entertainment, and business industries to join the organization. In 2008, Noreen Fraser co-created and co-produced the network television special STAND UP TO CANCER (“which raised over $100 million for cancer research”).
Prior to starting the Noreen Fraser Foundation, Noreen produced other award winning television shows including, ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, ABC’s HOME SHOW and The RICHARD SIMMONS SHOW. Recently, Noreen has started working on producing a documentary about cancer’s effects and developing a television project that will serve to raise awareness for women’s cancers.
The mission of the Noreen Fraser Foundation (NFF) is to raise funds for women’s cancer research. NFF supports translational cancer research aimed at developing new prevention methods, diagnostic tools and non-toxic therapies to treat women’s cancers. Our hope is that until there are CURES, women’s cancers will become manageable diseases controlled with targeted therapies that protect patients’ quality of life. The Noreen Fraser Foundation is a 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization.
While the Noreen Fraser Foundation doesn’t have a Canadian branch, they often make grants to research facilities all over the world in support of curing women’s cancers. For more information on the Noreen Fraser Foundation’s most recent research grant in Canada as a direct result of our partnership, please visit: http://www.noreenfraserfoundation.org/grantmaking/university-of-alberta-canada/.
Thank you in Advance
Please contact me via email at email@example.com to learn more, ask questions, and to set a date!
I will be heading to Saskatoon the week of Sept. 14th to support my dad (and give my sister a much needed break) and I will go again in early October, so please keep those dates in mind as I will be unable to do any in-person trunk shows.
Hope to hear from you.
(Please do not hesitate to contact me If you would like to be removed from this monthly newsletter list - no worries, no problem. Please notify me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org). Thank you!
