Puma News
Week of September 11-15, 2023

Families,
September marks Suicide Awareness Month, and we are committed to raising awareness throughout this week with a series of engaging dress-up themes:
- Mellow Monday (P.J. Day): Kick off the week by wearing your coziest pajamas.
- Thankful Tuesday (Dress like your Favorite Teacher or Mentor): Show gratitude by dressing up as someone who has made a positive impact on your life.
- Wellness Wednesday: Get your awareness ribbon during lunch to show your support.
- Treat Yourself Thursday: For a small donation of $1 (cash only), you can wear a hat and indulge in some delicious snacks.
- Feel and Chill Friday (Wear your Hawaiian gear): Wrap up the week in style by donning your Hawaiian attire.
In addition, please note that this Friday will be an Early Release day, with dismissal at 10:45 am. This adjustment is made in light of the DHS Homecoming Parade, in which TDA will proudly have a float participating. The parade is scheduled to commence at 3:30 pm in front of the First Baptist Church on Waugh Street.
We kindly encourage you to take a moment to review your child's Canvas courses and ensure that you are registered as a parent observer. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our front office or your child's teacher at 706-876-4700. Your active involvement is greatly appreciated.
We have the best students!
Shout out to Mr. Case and Dr. Caylor For leading their US History students through a debate regarding issues surrounding the US Constitution. The student-led discussion was rich, and the higher-order thinking skills were evident. | Shout out to Ms. McMath, Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. Graeff For leading 3DE student presentations this week. The growth in our student presentation skills is exciting! | Shout out to our youngest Pumas Our Preschool program started this week! Little Pumas attend Preschool Tuesday-Friday. The high school students gain hands-on experience with the preschoolers. They design lesson plans and work alongside Mrs. Starks to provide a robust preschool program. |
