JBD FRIDAY FOCUS
February 2, 2018
Fun Times in February!
As we can only hope the crazy winter weather will settle down, it seems as if the groundhog says we will be dealing with it for 6 more weeks. That's okay, we can handle it! Just a reminder to dress students appropriately with long pants and warm coats.
Apologies are going out to all in regards to the traffic at the drop-off lately. We have literally had a change of the guard; crossing guard that is, and it is changing daily. I have called Safe Schools to address this issue, because the impact is noticeable. As a reminder, our assistants that help with traffic come into the building at 8:07 am so that the school day can start promptly at 8:10. If children are arriving after that time, they need to be signed in at the front desk. In the meantime, we are working on a smoother drop-off time. Our busses arrive on time and children are in the building by 7:50, so putting the children on the bus when possible is highly recommended.
The school day will be extended 15 minutes starting Monday, Feb. 12 for making up of snow days. We are happy to have the time to catch up!
Have a wonderful Super Bowl weekend and stay warm!
Sincerely,
Beth Bianchi

Thank you PTA for an awesome character building assembly. YOUTH MOVERS with Brandon White inspired the children to remember, even if they mess up, not to give up. The other message was to Be Brave/Be Nice and help others whenever possible. AND IT WAS FUN!

PTA CORNER
PTA update
1. Our second fundraiser of the year, Boosterathon, is coming up and going to be a fantastic week-long program leading up to our Glow Stick Fun Run that will take place on March 8th during school hours! All families will be getting information sent home on how the program works and how you can get involved. This will be our opportunity to raise funds for the remaining budgeted events/activities of the PTA and primarily for technology for the John B Dey students to use daily in the classroom. Our computers are outdated and there is not an immediate plan for the replacement. Let's work together to have efficient, operational and updated hardware for our children's use and advancement! The kids are going to love this "Castle Quest" theme and character-building program! Be on the look out for information coming home in February!
2. After-School Tennis and Spanish class registration is OPEN!
REMEMBER!!!Because of the changes in the VBPCS schedule to make up our snow days, there will be some changes to the After-school PTA , Art, Tennis and Spanish classes.
