Read Across America Day -- Celebrating Dr. Seuss's Birthday

March 2nd is National Read Across America Day -- Dr. Seuss Day

We will celebrate this day by taking 15 minutes in the morning to "Drop Everything and READ". The whole school will take time to celebrate our love of reading.

We will also have an added dress up day. March 2nd will be a day to dress as your favorite Dr. Seuss character.

PRINCIPAL'S CORNER

Weather:

Students' winter clothing gets very wet when they go outside to play. Please be sure to wash these items at least 1 time a week or more if you can. They get very stinky in this weather. Students should have boots, snow pants, jacket, hat and gloves each day.

Staff are finishing up trimester 2 assessments so they can communicate with you the progress your child has made so far this year. With how the pandemic affected learning last spring we are experiencing learning gaps that we have not seen before. I encourage each family to look deeply at the report card and ask questions about how we can work together to help close the learning gap that the pandemic has created. Together we can make a huge difference in the learning of your child.

Thank you again for all that you are doing to help us. As always, please contact the office if you are in need of any assistance.

Mrs. Michalski

Notes from the Office

Skyward/Family Access: Skyward is the program our district uses to keep track of student information. Every family has a login and password which will allow them to gain access to their students' general information, attendance, food service information and much more. You may access this website through the district's homepage at https://ofpanthers.com/ Look for Parent Resources, click on Skyward/Grades, enter your login and id. If you do not have a login and password or don't remember your password call the school office at 920-826-5819, ext.0.

Open Enrollment: This year’s Open Enrollment application period will take place between February 1st and April 30th. The Wisconsin Open Enrollment program allows children to attend public school in a school district other than the one in which they live. Early and late applications will not be accepted. Parents may apply online at https://dpi.wi.gov/oe If you do not have access to a computer, call or stop in at the district office.

If your child is currently attending under Open Enrollment, it is not necessary to complete an application form; your child will remain an active student through 12th grade.

School Dress Up Days!

February 26 - Wear all one Color Day

March 2 (Tuesday) - Dress as your favorite Dr. Seuss character

March 5 - Hat Day

March 12 - Sunglasses Day

March 19 - Career Day

March 26 - Class Color Day

3rd Grade Mrs. Ingold's Classroom

Mrs. Ingold got to sit back and relax a bit while students took their turn teaching the class. Students chose something to teach the class and then had the students participate while learning. We learned how to make an origami boat and fox. We also learned how to pitch a baseball, draw several animals, build with Legos, and how to create a picture of a snowman. Another neat project was using oil pastels and then painting over it. We scratched off the paint to create a unique picture. We really enjoyed learning some new things. We also realized that teaching is not as easy as it looks.
